Jorge González Caro currently serves as the UNFPA Representative a.i. in Peru. Since joining the organization in 2011 as National Representative in Venezuela, he has held several high-level leadership positions, including Director roles in Panama, Costa Rica, and Argentina, as well as Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

An accomplished strategist, Jorge authored the acceleration strategy for UNFPA’s transformative results. He also designed the "Nexus" strategy for humanitarian and development response in Venezuela, a framework that now serves as a global model for the organization.

Jorge graduated in Mathematics and Computer Sciences (1983). He holds a Master’s in Social Program Management and has completed postgraduate studies in Philosophy and Logic of Science, Leadership, and Population Affairs.

Beyond his professional work, Jorge is a devoted husband, a father of four, and a proud grandfather of three grandsons. He is a lover of movement and the outdoors, finding balance through traveling, dancing, hiking, and snorkeling.
