El Sistema de las Naciones Unidas en el Perú continúa trabajando de manera coordinada con el Gobierno peruano ante la situación generada por intensas lluvias, huaicos y deslizamientos  que enfrentan varias regiones del país.

Como parte del sistema internacional de respuesta a emergencias, la ONU activó el mecanismo UNDAC (Evaluación de Desastres y Coordinación) a fin de poner a disposición del Gobierno la capacidad internacional para hacer evaluaciones inter-sectoriales rápidas, así como facilitar la coordinación y el manejo de información.

Esto ha permitido la llegada al Perú de una misión técnica de 10 expertos internacionales en gestión de emergencias. Los expertos realizarán un análisis de situación para coadyuvar a las propuestas del Gobierno peruano de respuesta inmediata y recuperación a mediano y largo plazo.

La misión UNDAC trabajará con la Red Humanitaria Nacional, la cooperación internacional y sociedad civil en estrecha coordinación con todas las instancias del Estado responsables del manejo de la emergencia.

Asimismo, el Sistema de las Naciones Unidas en el Perú, a través de sus diferentes agencias, fondos y programas, continúa sus acciones de apoyo técnico al Estado y de asistencia humanitaria en las diferentes zonas afectadas.

The United Nations System in Peru continues to work in a coordinated manner with the Peruvian Government in face of the situation caused by heavy rains and landslides in various regions of the country.

As part of the international emergency response system, the UN activated the UNDAC (United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination) mechanism to make available to the Government international capacity for rapid inter-sectoral assessments, as well as to facilitate coordination and Information management.

This has allowed the arrival in Peru of a technical mission of 10 international experts in emergency management. The experts will carry out a situation analysis to assist the proposals of the Peruvian government for immediate response and recovery in the medium and long term.

The UNDAC mission will work with the National Humanitarian Network, international cooperation and civil society in close coordination with all the instances of the State responsible for emergency management.

In addition, the United Nations System in Peru, through its various agencies, funds and programs, continues its technical support to the State and humanitarian assistance in the different affected areas.
